An Essene Life Mantra
Dr. Kenn McSperitt
A reflective exploration of creativity, personal evolution, and the ancient pursuit of Peace, A Beautiful Life invites readers to view their daily existence as a living work of art. Drawing from the Path of Peace and the teachings of the Ancients, Dr. Kenn McSperitt examines how our thoughts, words, and deeds shape the world around us—and how intentional living can transform ordinary life into something profoundly meaningful, beautiful, and enduring. The founders of the Ancient Peace Traditions taught that the purpose of life is personal evolution.

The founders of the Ancient Peace Traditions taught that the purpose of life is personal evolution.
Not accumulation.
Not status.
Not power over others.
Not wealth.
Not even happiness.
These may arise as byproducts of a life well-lived, but they are not the purpose. The purpose is the refinement of the Self. The alignment of the Lower Self with the Higher Self. The gradual movement toward Peace, Oneness, and communion with the Source.
For many, this objective can feel overwhelming. Questions arise immediately.
Where do I begin?
How do I know if I am progressing?
How do I apply these teachings in ordinary life?
The answer may be far simpler than most imagine.
Become an artist. Not necessarily a painter. Not necessarily a musician. Not necessarily a poet. Become a Life Artist.
Imagine that your life itself is the canvas. The world around you is the canvas. Every moment becomes a brushstroke. Every interaction becomes a color. Every choice becomes an act of creation.
The ancients taught that humanity was created in the image of the Source. Whether one interprets this literally or symbolically is irrelevant. The implication remains the same.
The Source creates. Therefore, creation is intrinsic to our nature. We are not merely observers of reality. We are participants in its formation.
Every thought creates.
Every word creates.
Every deed creates.
The question is not whether you are creating. The question is what you are creating.
Most people move through life unconsciously adding brushstrokes to their canvas.
They create anxiety.
They create conflict.
They create clutter.
They create division.
They create noise.
They create resentment.
They create pollution.
They create waste.
Often unintentionally.
Rarely maliciously.
But consequences remain regardless of intent.
A careless artist still affects the canvas.
A distracted artist still alters the masterpiece.
A Life Artist learns intentionality.
The implements of the Life Artist are not brushes, chisels, or cameras.
They are Love.
Wisdom.
Power.
Joy.
Love determines the quality of your interactions.
Wisdom determines the quality of your decisions.
Power determines the quality of your discipline.
Joy determines the quality of your presence.
These become the colors from which the masterpiece emerges.
Consider your thoughts.
Most people treat thinking as something that merely happens. The Life Artist recognizes thoughts as creative acts.
Every fearful thought paints fear onto the canvas.
Every judgment paints division.
Every resentment paints darkness.
Every hopeful thought paints possibility.
Every compassionate thought paints harmony.
Every grateful thought paints beauty.
The canvas responds.
Consider your words.
Words are among the most powerful creative tools available to humanity.
Entire civilizations have been built upon ideas expressed through language.
Wars have begun with words.
Peace has begun with words.
Families are strengthened through words.
Families are destroyed through words.
The Life Artist learns to speak carefully.
Not because speech is dangerous.
Because speech is sacred.
Words are brushstrokes placed upon the consciousness of others.
A careless word may linger for decades.
A kind word may alter the trajectory of an entire life.
Consider your actions.
The modern world often rewards convenience over beauty.
Speed over wisdom.
Consumption over stewardship.
Quantity over quality.
The Life Artist asks different questions.
Does this action increase beauty?
Does this action increase health?
Does this action increase harmony?
Does this action increase Peace?
The answers begin shaping every aspect of daily life.
Food becomes different.
The Life Artist does not merely ask whether food tastes good.
The question becomes:
Does this nourish the masterpiece?
Does this support vitality?
Does this strengthen the vessel through which consciousness experiences Creation?
Relationships become different.
Rather than asking, “What can I gain from this person?”
The Life Artist asks: “How can I contribute beauty to this relationship?”
Work becomes different.
The goal shifts from merely earning a living to creating value.
Parenting becomes different.
Teaching becomes different.
Leadership becomes different.
Even disagreement becomes different.
The objective is no longer victory.
The objective becomes understanding.
The canvas expands. Soon the Life Artist begins noticing that their canvas extends beyond themselves.
It includes family.
Community.
Humanity.
The Earth.
The Cosmos.
Every purchase becomes a brushstroke.
Every habit becomes a brushstroke.
Every convenience becomes a brushstroke.
Every wasteful act becomes a brushstroke.
Every act of stewardship becomes a brushstroke.
The ancients taught that all things are connected through the One Law.
Modern science increasingly points toward similar conclusions through ecology, systems theory, and entanglement.
Nothing happens in isolation.
Every action produces consequence.
Every consequence affects the canvas.
The Life Artist therefore becomes increasingly aware of responsibility.
Not responsibility rooted in guilt.
Responsibility rooted in participation.
You are already creating.
The only question is whether you are creating consciously.
This mindset transforms ordinary life.
The morning routine becomes art.
Preparing a meal becomes art.
A conversation becomes art.
A walk in nature becomes art.
A smile becomes art.
An act of forgiveness becomes art.
The way you care for your body becomes art.
The way you care for the planet becomes art.
The way you care for strangers becomes art.
The masterpiece is no longer confined to galleries.
It is lived.
Moment by moment.
Day by day.
Year by year.
This perspective also changes how we view failure.
Artists rarely produce perfection immediately.
Masterpieces emerge through refinement.
Correction.
Experimentation.
Persistence.
Life is no different.
The Path of Peace is not perfection.
It is progress.
The Life Artist understands this.
Setbacks become lessons.
Mistakes become teachers.
Challenges become opportunities for refinement.
One continues creating.
One continues learning.
One continues evolving.
Eventually a remarkable thing happens.
The artist and the artwork begin to merge.
The person becomes what they create.
A peaceful person creates Peace.
A loving person creates Love.
A wise person creates Wisdom.
A joyful person creates Joy.
The masterpiece is no longer external.
The masterpiece becomes the Self.
This is personal evolution.
This is the Path of Peace.
This is the gradual alignment of the Lower Self with the Higher Self.
This is the realization that beauty is not something we merely observe.
Beauty is something we become.
The ancients understood that the highest art form was never painting, music, sculpture, architecture, or literature.
The highest art form is a beautiful life.
A life lived intentionally.
A life lived compassionately.
A life lived mindfully.
A life lived in harmony with Nature, with Humanity, and with the Source.
Such a life leaves behind something far more valuable than possessions.
Far more valuable than achievements.
Far more valuable than status.
It leaves behind beauty.
And beauty endures.
And here is your Dr. Kenn Challenge:
Until we meet again, begin each morning by asking yourself a single question:
“If today were a work of art, what would I create?”
Then carry that question with you throughout the day.
Before every significant thought, word, and deed, pause briefly and ask:
“Does this add beauty to my canvas?”
Do not seek perfection.
Simply observe.
At the end of each day, spend five minutes reflecting on the masterpiece you created.
Notice where beauty increased.
Notice where it diminished.
Notice how your awareness changes.
At the end of that time, ask yourself honestly:
Did I experience more Peace by living as a Life Artist than by living unconsciously?
The answer may reveal more about your path than years of theory ever could.
These are the teachings of the Ancients.
Timeless in origin.
Endless in application.
Dr. Kenn
